Laura's story

From her first passes in Mataró to her Spain national team debut

Before supporting other athletes, Laura lived youth basketball, the elite game and the senior national team from the inside — with all the good and all the difficult that came with it.

The beginnings in Mataró

Laura's story with basketball starts very early. At just five years old she took her first steps at Unió Esportiva Mataró, where she discovered a sport that, without knowing it at the time, would shape the rest of her life.

Femení Sant Adrià: the formative years

While still in the mini category, Femení Sant Adrià spotted her and, at the age of 10, she began a stage that would define much of her development as a player. There she grew from the youth categories all the way up to the first team, going through Spanish championships and the Catalan and Spanish youth national teams.

With Sant Adrià came one of her first big leaps: in the 2016-17 season she made her debut in Liga Femenina 2 and won promotion to the top division. A year later, at only 19, she made her debut in the Liga Femenina — today's Liga Femenina Endesa.

The national teams and the European title

Alongside her club progression, Laura earned a place in the Catalan and Spanish youth national teams. In 2017 she played the U19 World Cup with Spain and, a year later, one of the most special moments of that stage arrived: she became, together with her teammates, U20 European champion in 2018. Wearing the Spain jersey had been a dream since she was little.

Cadí La Seu: the leap to the elite

In 2019 came another change: she left Sant Adrià to join Cadí La Seu, where she would spend four seasons competing at the highest level. It was a period of huge growth, on and off the court — establishing herself in the elite, competing in Europe and taking on more and more responsibility within the team.

The 2021-22 season was especially important: she was recognised as the breakout player of the Liga Femenina Endesa.

The senior national team debut

That same summer of 2022 came one of the most special calls of her career: a call-up to the Spanish senior national team. She made her debut for Spain in June 2022, in Melilla, against Belgium.

Uni Girona and the end of a professional chapter

After four years at La Seu, in 2023 it was time to wear the Uni Girona jersey, closing her journey through three clubs that were fundamental in her growth: Sant Adrià, Cadí La Seu and Uni Girona.

What nobody saw

From the outside, all of this could look like the dream path: competing at the highest level, being part of the national team, winning titles and making a living from the sport she had loved since childhood.

But behind all of that there was another reality. For years, Laura lived basketball with very high demands and pressure. The fear of making mistakes, the need to do everything right and the feeling that it was never enough kept growing until she reached a point where she needed to stop and ask for help.

In 2024 she decided to end her professional career. It was a hard decision, but over time she understood that it was also the beginning of a very important stage: learning to listen to herself, understanding what had happened to her and rebuilding her relationship with sport.

Why this project exists

Today, Laura wants to use everything she has lived — the good and the difficult — to support other players who may find themselves in similar situations. Not to tell them what to do, but to listen and help them put words to something they may not yet know how to explain.

Because she knows what it means to live sport from the inside. And she also knows how important it can be to feel that you do not have to go through it alone.
